Entrance and foyer lighting
The entrance is the calling card of any establishment – whether it is a company, a hotel or a university. Architecture, layout, materials, furnishings, lighting and acoustics combine to make a crucial first impression – the impression that determines whether visitors feel welcome or not.
Entrance areas generally consist of four zones: the actual entrance, the reception, the lobby and areas leading into the building. Architect and lighting designer need to structure these zones and provide clear aids to orientation for the visitor.
