Changing room lighting
Every sports facility has changing rooms and sanitary rooms where users dress and shower after sport. Good lighting for both these amenities avoids any impression of lack of cleanliness, facilitates the performance of visual tasks and makes for a greater sense of security. DIN EN 12193 requires a minimum of only 100 lux; 300 lux illuminance is recommended.
Shower rooms, toilet facilities and areas for washing hands are classed as "damp interiors" by DIN VDE 0100 Part 701. Consequently, luminaires installed in them require a higher degree of protection.
To ensure a shadow-free reflection of a face in a mirror, two luminaires are required – one mounted on the left and one on the right of the mirror. They should be of glare-free design. For large mirrors, additional luminaires can be mounted directly above the mirror.
