Ceiling luminaires can be mounted as recessed luminaires or surface-mounted luminaires; alternatively, they can be suspended from the ceiling. "Pendant luminaire" is a term mostly used to denote a luminaire for the home (e.g. for table lighting). Luminaires used in offices or industrial interiors are generally referred to as "suspended luminaires". They are suspended (also in continuous rows or as power track) on steel wires or threaded rods.
