Recessed ground luminaires

Recessed ground luminaires are used outdoors for orientation lighting or accent lighting. Also known as inground uplights, they have a symmetrical or asymmetrical intensity distribution curve. They need to withstand the weight of pedestrians and wheeled vehicles (with safety glass enclosure for loads up to 3,000 kg) and require a high degree of protection (IP 65 or IP 67). Set in soil or embedded in gravel, they need to be guaranteed adequate drainage. Recessed ground luminaires generally have a high-strength cast aluminium housing Their indoor counterparts are recessed floor luminaires.
