Incandescent lamps

Because of their poor energy balance (luminous efficacy), incandescent lamps will be removed from the EU market in stages by 2012. The phase-out is executed in accordance with Regulation 244/2009 "Ecodesign requirements for non-directional household lamps", which came into force on 13 April 2009. Special lamps for ovens, refrigerators, etc. are excluded from this arrangement.
