Indication and signalling lamps

Indication and signalling lamps today are still predominantly incandescent lamps for line voltage or low voltage halogen lamps (10 Volt), each specifically developed for the purpose. The high luminous flux of these lamps ensures good signal effect and perceptibility; most are used as traffic signalling lamps for road and rail. Long life and high luminous efficacy are primary requirements. LEDs play an increasingly important role as indication and signalling light sources.
