Converters for low voltage halogen lamps
For low voltage halogen lamps, transformers are used to convert 230 V line voltage into low voltage (often 12 V). If they use electronic components to convert the current, they are referred to not as "electronic transformers" but as converters. Compared to magnetic transformers for low voltage halogen lamps, converters are smaller, more compact, lighter, quieter and more economical on electricity.
