DIN 5035-7 withdrawn

DIN EN 12464-1 can be applied as a replacement

DIN 5035-7 "Lighting with artificial light - Part 7: Lighting of interiors with displays workstations" was withdrawn on 1 March 2017.

The reason for the withdrawal was that some of the requirements of DIN 5035-7 were in conflict with DIN EN 12464-1:2011 08, rendering unambiguous application impossible. As a result, the relevant working committee, NA 058-00-04 AA "Interior lighting with artificial light" within the DIN Lighting Technology Standards Committee (FNL), resolved to withdraw DIN 5035-7. DIN EN 12464-1 can be applied as a replacement.

However, since certain aspects of DIN 5035-7 remain useful for the application of DIN EN 12464-1, the competent body will publish Supplement 1 to DIN EN 12464-1:2011, the main focus of which is on describing of lighting concepts and lighting types and is aimed primarily at planners.

Supplement 1 provides interpretation of DIN EN 12464-1:2011 08. It contains recommendations for the planning of lighting systems and provides explanations on the application of DIN EN 12464-1 in Germany. This supplement contains no additional standardized specifications for DIN EN 12464-1. It also serves as a planning aid in reconciling DIN EN 12464-1 with ASR A3 4 which applies in Germany. DIN EN 12464-1 Supplement 1 is expected to be published in July 2017 and can be purchased from Beuth Verlag.
