Conference on the impact of optical radiation on the human organism
New findings on the impact of optical radiation on the human organism and medical applications are presented and discussed at the symposium "Light and Health" ("Licht und Gesundheit") from April 3rd to 4th, 2019, in Dortmund. Meeting content are positive effects and risks of optical radiation of the visible spectral range, the impact of ultra violet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation as well as their utilization. The special topic "Light" focuses on the visual and non-visual impact of light, shift and night work, laboratory and field tests, clinical studies and therapies, lighting design and application as well as light immission.
New measurement methods, normative specifications as well as safety and health protection will be further topics. The goal of the event is the interdisciplinary discussion of new insights from research and development. For the first time the symposium is organized by the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) and the German lighting society (Deutsche Lichttechnische Gesellschaft, LiTG).
