Privacy Policy

1. Responsible body

The following data protection declaration applies to the use of the website www.licht.de. This website is an offer of the industry initiative licht.de of ZVEI e. V. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association), Lyoner Strasse 9, 60528 Frankfurt am Main, Germany (hereinafter: "licht.de" and "ZVEI"). 

2. Automatic data collection and processing by your browser

Like every website, our server automatically and temporarily collects and saves the following information in the server logfiles, which is transmitted by your browser unless you have deactivated this function: 

  • IP address of the querying computer,
  • file enquiry by the client,
  • the http response code,
  • the internet site, from which you are visiting us (referrer URL),
  • date and time of access,
  • browser type and version, and
  • operating system used on the querying computer.

A person-specific evaluation of the server logfile is not performed. At no time are we able to attribute this data to specific or identifiable individuals. This data is not merged or combined with other data sources.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 f GDPR.

3. Collection and processing of voluntarily provided data

All data will only be processed on the basis of and within the scope of your consent. 

If you provide us with personal data by e-mail and/or contact form (in particular name, e-mail address or telephone number), this is generally on a purely voluntary basis.

These data are used exclusively for specific purposes, such as the necessary communication, for processing your enquiries, processing the contractual relationship or your orders, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 a,b GDPR. There will be no further use. 

The passive use of our offer is anonymously possible.

4. Recipient of data

Your data will not be passed on to external third parties without separate consent.

If service providers are used in individual cases, we ensure through contracts and controls that the data security and data protection of the service providers are guaranteed. 

These include the following categories of contractors: Identification service providers, software developers, server hosters, newsletter senders, customer support, web analytics services.

5. Cookies and web analytics

The website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files, which are stored locally in your browser's temporary memory. In particular, cookies are used to enable recognition of your internet browser. Cookies are used to control the session and for statistical evaluation. These cookies do not contain any personal data. Insofar as you voluntarily select automatic login to the website, your login details (e-mail address and password) will be saved in an additional cookie on your computer.

You can specify the permissibility of cookies yourself. You can modify the settings of your browser so that cookies are not stored to your hard drive and so that cookies already saved are deleted. Web analytics/etracker

Data is collected and stored on this website using technologies from etracker GmbH (www.etracker.com) for marketing and optimization purposes. Profiles can be created from this data under a pseudonym. Cookies may be utilized for this purpose. Cookies are small text files, which are stored locally in the temporary memory of the user's internet browser. Cookies enable the recognition of the internet browser.

The data collected using the etracker technologies is not used to identify the visitor to this website personally without the separately granted consent of the data subject and is not combined with personal data about the bearer of the pseudonym.

6. Social Networks

Twitter 

Our pages include functions of the social network "Twitter". These features are provided by Twitter Inc., Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. By using Twitter and the "Retweet" function, the websites you visit will be linked to your Twitter account and made known to other users. Data is also transferred to Twitter. We would like to point out that, as the provider of these pages, we are not aware of the content of the transmitted data and their use by Twitter. Embedded YouTube videos

On some of our websites we embed YouTube videos. YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA is the operator of the corresponding plug-ins. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube will be informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behavior.

If you have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google Ad program, you will not have to reckon with such cookies when viewing YouTube videos. YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the saving of cookies in your browser.

Our channels on social networks

We operate channels on various social platforms in order to communicate directly with our customers and inform them about interesting news from our organization. We process the data of the visitors of our channels, in particular information about user interactions (e.g. likes, comments, retweets), demographic and statistical data as well as the data transmitted to us in the context of news and comments.

We would like to point out that when using these social networks, the respective providers also have access to your data. This data can be used for market research and advertising purposes. We have no further knowledge of the data processing by the providers of the relevant social platforms.

The processing of personal data of visitors to our online presence is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring communication with our customers and informing them about news related to our products.

We would also like to point out that the data processed when using social platforms and networks may possibly be processed outside the European economic area.  The operators of the networks on which we operate a channel are certified according to the EU/US Privacy Shield. An up-to-date overview of such certifications can be found at www.privacyshield.gov

7. No data transmission outside the EU/secure data transmission

The data we collect is stored exclusively on servers in Germany. No data is transmitted to companies outside the European Union. This also applies to service providers commissioned by us to process data.

Your personal data is transmitted securely by encryption. This applies to the login and use of the portal. We use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) coding system. No one can guarantee absolute protection. However, we protect our websites and other systems by technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons.

8. Duration of data storage/deletion of data

We store your data within the permissible duration of use and with your consent. 

You have the possibility at any time to object to the use of the data and to request its deletion.

9. Rights and complaints

You have the following rights towards us regarding the data concerning you:

  • Right to revoke your consent
  • right of opposition to the processing
